Default cactus v2 set : problem : one will not fire unless at 1/25th of a second

Title says all. I bought a cactus set, and one of the v2s doesn't work properly.

It fires, but seemingly out-of-sync with the camera... and only "shows up" when I have my shutter at 1/25 or below. Otherwise, it fires and doesn't 'show up' on camera. My other one works great... up to 1/250.

It isn't the battery - b/c I swapped out the battery from the one that works into the one that doesn't - and it still had problems.

Wondering what else I should take a look at...

Thanks.

FLASH: 580ex II : 1/32 power for testing purposes.
CAMERA: 20d
SETTING: (M)

Just send em back.
I had a problem with mine, sent it back to hong kong and received a fixed one a week later. postage was only about $3.
It's expected to have low limitations, but they are pretty helpful when its clearly inoperable.

could you PM me the address you sent it to, or the site I can find it at? I bought them off of a user and don't have any of the info - and google doesn't seem to be helping me find it =P

I would try to use a new battery before return them. Slow sync speed usually means weak battery for those eBay triggers.

Erik

Just saw your email and this thread. I was going to suggest changing the battery as well. I had them for about 6 months or so with no use at all. I put the battery in and checked them when I got them, but since then they have not been used at all. I knew they were working, but then I do not remember the shutter speed that I used. I doubt that I used 1/25 though! Please let me know how this proceeds, I will work it out with you.

Regards

I swapped out batteries just in case (I'll need some eventually anyway, right? ) No change Still need ~1/25 shutter for it to actually "show up" on camera.

Does anybody have a site or etc. I could gather where to send the faulty model?

Not sure what you mean with it "showing up" but you need to ask Vivek where she bought it from so you can see if they're willing to swap it for you. They might deny you if you're not the buyer though (like if it was on eBay). There's several sellers selling these things, although Gadget Infinity seem to be the premier one.

You've changed both the receiver and the transmitter battery?

Yeppers. Nothing seems to work =P

It fires consistently, at least... now if only I could use an appropriate shutterspeed, har har

What happens when you press the test button? How about plugging your camera into the transmitter, instead of hot-shoe? Firing the flash directly from the camera (hotshoe or PC Sync cable)?

Try the wireless set on another camera body or on another flash, see if the problem persists. Eliminate the problems.
