Default Too close for mama hawk's comfort.

I had walked closer to the tree the nest is in and she let me know in no uncertain terms I was TOO close. I quickly backed away and will not approach that closely again. (actually I was about 35' from the tree, not what I thought would disturb her-this is a big crop). My bad.

She looks like she's giving you a big scolding. Good thing you understood exactly what she was saying and backed off. They are very protective and can be aggressive. Great shot by the way!!

Thanks, Keith. I really felt bad afterwards. Did not mean to disturb her.

I've found burst mode works when you're moving backwards.

Good thing you left it alone...I wouldn't want those talons coming towards me.

Yeah, afterwards I remembered the story in the news recently where the girl at the ballpark got too close to a hawk's nest on the light pole...she got a nasty gash on her head!

I disagree, I did NOT run, I backed up at full speed.
