Default Small Tripod for G9

Well, for any of the G series or smaller cameras I'm sure, but I just picked this up today
I was looking for a small monopod, as a lot of the shots I do are on the inside
of our equipment and it's difficult to get anything in there, so I'm constantly
propping up the camera with what ever I can find and it's not always the best.

This is a Bogen tripod, the legs are friction feeling, so you can snug them apart
to keep as much height as you like, or, collapse them and use it as a monopod
and steady the camera using that.

B&H has it here

Here are a few images taken tonight of the tripod with an extension that
goes from 6" to 10", quite handy

One such shot like this would have been handy to have on hand, ambient
light and hand held/braced

I recommend it highly, I paid a bit more for the outfit at a local brick and mortar
but I wasn't sure what I really wanted, so hard to tell from the internet some
times, and it doesn't hurt to support the local store sometimes.

Umm..He's Sick, My best friend's sister's boyfriend's brother's girlfriend heard from this guy who knows this kid who's going with a girl who saw Ferris pass-out at 31 Flavors last night. I guess it's pretty serious……

G2, looks pretty sturdy. Is it too top heavy when mounted with a Speedlite? Or is the base wide enough to negate that issue?

Thanks if the base is fully open, and you put the one leg towards the front,
I think it would handle it fine, just put my 580 on it and very solid, unless
you tilt the camera down, then you're pushing it a little, otherwise no worries!

I have this same tripod without the extension and it actually supports my gripped xti with the 10-22 fairly well. Nice tripod that even fits in my top load zoom bag. It opens so wide that it is amazingly stable as long as it's on a good surface.

If you have anything to latch onto the Joby Gorilla SLR tripod with it's flexible legs is what I find invaluable.

Jethro790, yes the tripod alone is amazingly solid!

andydajo, I looked at the gorilla but for what I need was something
more for height, in fact, most of the time the legs will barely be separated
using them to gain more height, thinking of getting another extension possibly
as there are times I need to be up higher and inside the machine it's very hard
to do with much else, so this arrangement allows me to at least stabilze the
vertical movement and leaves me to brace it from side to side movement as
I take the shots.
