Default new lens, old beach...

hey all,

i just got my first prime lens (50 1.4) and shot some pics at a fav beach of mine...

except for the boat one, thats on a 17-50 2.8 tamron.

Superb!

The first one is the pick for me, on the 2nd i'd like to see the shell and the rock a bit brighter to draw the eye. Nice B&W conversions

I like the first one alot, these are great! The second one has so much DOF blur but somehow it really works great!

I also like the first one the best. The horizon is almost perfectly level, and the top of one of the rocks lines up with the shoreline.

I don't feel like there's enough going on the second one. Well exposed, though.

Number three: My eye has a hard time coming to rest on a specific point in the photo.

The last one is well composed, but lacks the sharpness and harmony of the first one (the rocks), in my opinion. A nice level horizon! big plus.

Great stuff! and congrats on the new lens!
