Hope this works. But I am new here and jsut thought I would post a recent pic of one my boys shutting down a striker. This was taken with a S2 but I HOPE to get a XTi or Xsi soon.

I like it! If it's a cropped image, it's a little tight on the left side but I the exposure etc. look great! good capture.

Looks like it's going to hurt!

PP help. Get Photoshop Elements. Current version is 6 (I don't like it) Version 5 can be had for $50 or less.

Also a good noise reduction (NR) program is invaluable IMO. I really like Noiseware. They have both standard and professional versions both are available as stand alone or as photoshop plugins.

Google it for more info.

Crop the top off.

Increase contrast and saturation.

A little sharpening.

Some noise reduction.

I'm not sure how much PP is going to help, the focus is off. It's focused on the goal posts and not the goalie so unless there's a magical program I never heard of you don't have much post to do for that. The action is fine but a higher shutter and better focus is needed.
