Default 40D Cable Remote vs Wireless Remote

Just wondering what peoples thoughts are on Cable vs Wireless for the 40D.

I upgraded from the XTI and my wireless remote doesn't work on the 40D. I was never really that thrilled with the one I had for the XTI. It was too small and easy to loose.

Aren't the advantages and disadvantages rather obvious?

Cable is cheaper but less flexible.

The wireless remote works from in front of the camera (self-portait). I prefer a wired release. I made one for my XSI with an old hands-free ear-piece from a cell phone. Works great and the price was right.

The Cleon C8s are RF, not direct line of site IR, the rebel line is the only one with the IR eye for the remote. To buy a Cleon Phottix wireless for the 40D, check the For Sale board for these, or on ebay. If you are interested in more info, PM me.

And if you upgraded to the 40D, a signature change is in order!

I've got one like the cleon on the way. Fits on the hot shoe and works from any direction. Should be great for street shooting with the remote in my jacket pocket. I saw you ad too late TS..crap

Just as a BTW, the Cleon can also be used as wired release by using the manual switch on the receiver unit. 2 for 1.
