I was out experimenting with my 55-250 IS and XSi today and took this picture. I didn't notice his wings until downloaded the pictures on my computer.
How can he fly with these? ![]() |

Good capture
Think insect wings are "designed/evolved" with excess lift capabilities so when they get a bit ragged they can still fly. Brian V.

you see buttrflies with terribly ragged wings sometimes and they fly perfectly still. i would agree with lord V

I had to agree with Brian on this one as i have seen bees flies wasps etc all the same some of the bees have half a wing and still fly fine!
