This is my first time taking pictures at a girls softball game. I am just a beginner but my dad is jealous because some of his dont turn out this good with his 40D.

Try for a higher shutter speed to "Freeze" the bat and ball in the first one

Second one looks OOF for me.

Very nice caputres KillerM. Your timing in #1 is excellent. The colors from the PowerShot are indeed nice IMHO. Keep shooting and having fun

Can he increase the shutter speed on the PowerShot 1000? Not bad for 8 years old. Keep up the good work!
