Default wedding photo in champaign class - what do you think?

I would appreciate some thoughts on this pic. My pp skills are still in the beginning stages so I tried following a tutorial out of a magazine. Is there anything else you would do to it?
Thanks for your time and thoughts!

and another...

I think you got a pretty good concept going on, and its something I havent seen personally, but something is not working for me. I really cant put a finger on it. The second one.. maybe the background doesnt go with the glass... id try different background. Maybe a glass on the reception table, with the background blurred out... Maybe add a little more opacity to the pictures in the glass.... Im not too sure what needs to be done, but like I said you got a really good concept. Try playing around with it more!

Thanks for sharing.... I might do this with my alky friend and a beerbottle!

I've seen these and some really like it,
but I think its a bit dated. Not my style

That being said, you pp'd them pretty well, and the images look good. I would enlarge the photo just a bit in the second one though, and blend a bit more

back in the seventies we used to do pose 2 with coke in the glass in front of the cake. double expose and anything that falls on the white is burnt out leaving the second image where the coke was.

pre-photoshop
any of you kids ever heard of Bill Stockwell?

Thanks for your time! These 2 backgrounds were both stock but I do like the idea better of an actual glass at the reception w/ background. The 2nd background was actually blue to start with. I was hoping to change the color to get it to work with other things.... but black was my best attempt. My mother-inlaw has a pic of her kids that she always says her her fav. pics of the kids. they are in a big glass like that. Was hoping to be able to do something like that of her grandson to suprise her.

Maybe it would be fun to put your friend in the bottle upside down like he/she is drowning

thank you I think its like a lot of other things.. you have to have the "right" picture to do it with...
Now that you point out the 2nd 1 - I agree.. does need to fill the glass more.

I believe your PP skill is up to par on these, but like others I feel the technique is a little dated. I just remember stuff similar to this around the 80's time frame But like I said, technically you did a nice job.
