The exposure, white balance, and focus are excellent.
As for composition, I know this wasn't planned, and that shows. For portrait work, you wanted a planned composition. The line of the wall in the background is running through her head which is weak composition. The items she's carrying in her hand are distracting as well. Next time you see someone you would like to photograph, I would suggest asking them if you could take their picture and set up the portrait a bit more and I bet you will be very pleased with the result. you may also want to get a signed model release before sharing the portrait as well. The edit in your second one, I don't like so much. The yellow is too strong for my tastes and tones are kind of muddy. You lost the detail in her shawl in the conversion as well. If you would like, I could take the first one and do a conversion on it and tell you the steps in case you like it and want to duplicate it. I hope my cc has helped some. |

Thanks for the wonderful comments, I really appreciated; yes please get the picture and do the conversion i would like to see what could of been done.
On the picture you mentioned that she does not look happy and that maybe was because I was taking her picture, I saw her walking with that face, she did not change her expression at all, that was her when I saw her and that was her when I took the picture, next time i will ask, I was afraid that the natural aspect of the moment could of been lost if I asked. On the look like black and white compassion, to be honest, I didn't know what to do and started to change things here and there until I saw something that I was somehow a little be happy with it. I'm very open to any suggestion; please don’t hesitate to make a harsh comment if needed. Very thankful for your comments. Thanks

I agree with the above advice. Next time try to set it up. I do however think that the picture is amazing! The lighting and sharpness are unreal. I think you have captured some feeling as well in this picture.
I went ahead and had a play since you said it was ok. I am pretty much the worst at this, but it will give you an idea of the different ways people can PP images. ![]() ![]()

I actually like your b/w, because it's unique. She looks like she's had a hard life, and you did a good job capturing that!
