Default XSI confession

I sold my XT to get the XSI . Now that liveview didnt really live up to what I expected I soon expect to buy another XT again just to have.

I sorta miss the smaller RAW files from the XT .

There , I said it .

I went from a 350D to a 30D (and now to a 40D). From my 350D I miss the following:

If you were thinking of upgrading because of the live view, I wouldn't recommend upgrading to the 40D either as the live view implementations are similar for both the XSi and 40D.

I've had my XSi for about a month now and couldn't be happier with it, the RAW files are larger though and can I understand that, but I couldn't live without the large screen, even though I don't use Live View. But to each his own. Either way they're both great cameras.

I agree with this. I have not used the live view feature once yet. It does nothing for me in terms of the work I do.

I bought a 40D thinking live view would be a waste of time and ended up loving it. Live view is great for up close work and also allows some great camera angles in the field. It's not something most folks will use all the time, but when it's needed, it is great to have. Personally, I love live view.

I've got an XTI (backup) with 3.5 years of extended warranty left, you wanna trade for the XSi?

I do a fair bit of macro work and live view really comes into it's own for the fine focusing in shallow DOF needed in macro.

How did Liveview not live up to your expectations? What were you expecting?

I could see myself using liveview for macro.....but since I don't shoot much macro it's not exactly a huge feature for me. Beyond that I want to compose everything via the VF.

A good VF beats liveview anyday.
