Default First Moon Photo Attempt

This is my first try at this. Settings were, Raw, 1/1000 sec.shutter speed, f5.6 aperture, 100 ISO, 400mm focal point. Croped in PSE. What do you think. Please comment.

I think it looks really good. Was tempted to "shoot the moon" last evening, but was too lazy to go out.

Thanks Stan
This shot was harder than I thought it would be. I think it turned out not bad.

You've got a very good picture.
Full moon is not easy to shot.
I think you can get may be some improvement by
sharpening ( USM) a little bit and playing a little bit
with levels or curves.

Jose

Have lots of moon shots with the 100-400 but non is a quarter as good as this. very nice.

Did you apply USM to it.

Thanks Jose and aam

I used a technique I found on Luminous Landscape called Local Contrast Enhancment, wich utilizes USM. I think it works pretty good.

Cool Re: First Moon Photo Attempt

congratulations on getting such a good shot Dave

the same full moon can cause havoc
it's when it's full that the earth's biggest 'movements' always seem to happen

great to get such a shot

congratulations again

Niceness, It looks much like my attempt at it also.

had to check my favorites, but that is the site that I found on this board. I had to search for it, because I couldn't get the right settings.

Very nice moon shot. I have a few good ones, but mine have a little more noise in them.
