Default Kenya Safari

I've been a member here for a while now and never really posted anything, so thought i'd share some of my Safari photos from last year.

Those that frequent the DCR forums will have probably seen them

Wide shots taken with 18-55 kit lens and a 20D, Tele shots with the 70-300mm IS

Got some more if you'd like to see them.

Pretty nice. Shows you don't always need long to get some good shots. I would clone out the dribble but hey, personal preference. Just post up what you think are your best. You're allowed 8 in total

Nah - adds character to the old fella... ( I know these things!)

Shoey; your #1 is superb. I take it the mountain is Kilimanjaro?

Nice set...

Cheers;

Lee

This has been heavilly cropped hence the lack of quality compared to the rest.

Yes, the mountain in the first (and the giraffe one) is kilimanjaro.

I love the color on the reptile in picture number 2. Nice series, all the pictures are very good.

The trip started at Nairobi and headed down to Amboseli for the first park. We then headed to lake Naivasha followed by the Masai Mara. We then flew to Mombassa and had to further safaris at Tsavo East and West.

Elephant - Amboseli
Lizzard - Tsavo
Lion - Masai Mara
Bird - Masai Mara
Giraffe - Amboseli
Hippo - Lake Naivasha (Well worth the visit)
Landscape - Between Naivasha and Masai, Think it was near Narok.

Bloody hell, you covered some mileage! I've been twice and not covered that number of parks! Did Amboseli (Hyenas mingi sana!) and Tsavo west last time. Tsavo was a bit lacking, but staying at kilaguni made it. Wonder if anyone on here has stayed there? They have a lit watering hole, fun to see P&S brigade with their flashes trying to capture a giraffe at 100 metres... they look very disappointed

Well there's nothing like that kind of practical experience to one help learn ... we all started somewhere.

Thanks

Everyone i've shown seems to love that one, but it was never one i was that fond of at first. I like it now, and i'm getting a big canvas print of it, but at the time it didn't seem that special to me. But then again i don't think any of my photos are that good as i'm my own worst critic
