These pictures are from a rally held at Croft race circuit shortly after Xmas every year. Like every year it was cold, man was it cold, I am still not thawed out. Here are some samples and I will post some more later. I think Ian H has an interesting shot to post, as he was in the right place at the right time.

There is something that still stirs the rally driver in me every time I see one of these:

.

I like to take shots from way down low. This was taken 2ft from a very cold and muddy ground:

.

I took this shot, and others of the same car for a friend of mine:

And, a last one of the Metro:

.

I'll off now for more hot drinks, alchohol, a warm fire and hope that I feel less like an Antarctic explorer.

Everything you see above was with my 300 2.8IS and 1.4TC, which is my favourite weapon of choice. I also used my 1D (original) with 70-200 2.8IS for close-up work. I finished the day in the rain with my MK-II, 85 1.8 and flash at the start of one of the late stages.

I did for the ones in shade by taking a WB shot and using it in C1 to set the WB when converting from RAW. For the rest, the light was changing so much I didn't bother.

Well if you've got some examples of the 100-400 at work i'd love to see 'em

Hi Ag, Well I'm old enough to remember when MG was a manufacturer, not just a brand stuck on something else. I used to watch these rally when they were factory supported. Ah, the good old days, or were they? Heaters in cars that never worked, everything an optional extra and they all came with free rust.

Here's another one of my way down low shots. Looks like he's about to run me down:

Nice Shot Ken, you forgot mention those kingpins that needed constant replacing.
All we need now is a shot of a Montego too!
First quick car I ever drove was a fairly sorted MG BGT about 3 months after passing my test, was a far cry from my 1.1 Fiesta, loved it.

Where are you metering off of?
I don't even have to tell you the shots look hot.

God this reminds me. I have some photo's from Dover Raceway in Jamaica from years ago(17yo or so), when I was a younger kid and was shooting around the track with my EOS ellan IIe.
I have to find those slides.
