Cant say i use it, own it, or ever find myself shooting in a church, but i'll bet you anything that most people are going to tell you they use the 85 f/1.8/1.4 or 50mm f/1.8/1.4

For weddings, a middle-range zoom. For really wide family group poses, something closer to 20mm.

I use my 38-135IS for a lot of candids. My group shots are done with a 17-40 L lens and my 28-70 L lens.
