Default Wedding Reception

A couple was married in Florida, but wanted a) reception for their family here locally. They wanted pictures on the stairs. Shot w/ 40D, Sigma 24-70 and 580EX II.

Nice smiley shot but the conversion doesn't work for me, too bright.

The first one is better, the B&W has blown whites. I would definitely saturate and sharpen the first one to get the faces. As a wedding photographer, I do all sorts of PP to get the bride to stand out. I whiten teeth, I brighten eyes, etc. But for a gathering for friends, this picture is a definite keeper.

On my monitor at work, the whites didn't seem so bright. On my laptop, they really are bright. Thanks for the tips.
