I just bought a Gitzo GT2330 tripod with the ground level set feature. I plan to remove the center column permanantly and just use the GLS setup. I'm not so sure now that I've played with the tripod a little. I'm having trouble getting the top disc nice and tight. I've tried contacting Gitzo/Bogen and never get a response. Their instructions say to tighten the disc "turn the locking collar and disc clockwise to tighten". When I do that, the entire mechanism just rotates. The only way I have found to get it tight is to rotate the locking collar counter clockwise so it essentially jams up under the disc. Anybody have a different experience or suggestions about what I might be doing wrong?
