Folks
This little fella came down to feed on some peanuts in a Bird feeder in my local nature reserve. It was a first for me as i have never seen a woodpecker before let alone have my camera with me at the same time. Its a shame he wasn't fully side on but he didn't stay there for long before he flew off so any picture is better than none Canon 10D, 100 - 400is, F5.6, 1/125 Cheers Nigel

That's a great shot. Woodpeckers around here are very skittish, never stay long enough for a photo. Maybe at a feeder they would linger a bit.

Thats a nice shot of the woodpecker. I've gotten lots of shots of similar woodpeckers but they have yet to come out as sharp as yours did. Good job!

That is one great shot, Woodpeckers are very tough to photograph because the keep bouncing around the tree and never stay in one spot very long. You did good
