Default Cock O' The North Road Races

Hi everyone! This is my first post on this forum although I have been amazed by / jealous of the motorsport photography here for quite some time

I went to the Cock O' The North Road Races at Olivers Mount in Scarborough this weekend, had an ace time and I'm really pleased with the Canon 40d / 100-400mm combination! Had virtually no OOF shots. : ) Also the noise at ISO 500 is virtually non existant and due to the better focussing than my 350d I was less afraid to shoot at 400mm so I only had to crop a few of my shots very slightly!

Saturday saw the Welshman Ian Lougher clean up, although this might have had something to do with the absence of Farquar, McGuinness and Guy Martin! To see more pics visit my website at: www.georgelowther.co.uk

1. David Bell

2. Ian Lougher

3. Mick Goodings

4. Dwyer Agnew

5. Mark Buckley

6. Ivan Shanley fighting through the crowd

Thanks! Comments and criticism are welcome!

Welcome. Nice job on these. But #6 is not working for me it is a bit clutter, for a lack of a better word.

Very nice shots. I really like the 1st and 4th shots. All have fantastic detail and great color.

Thanks for the comments! To be honest I thought the last one was a bit cluttered as well - I was trying to show how close the racing was at times compared to shots like the others but it is a bit messy!

Nice photos George

Was really upset as I wasn't fit to travel down for the meeting.

Lovely shot of Dave Bell. Was that taken on the entry to the Esses?

OK shot #6 is a bit busy but on that circuit it gets that way especially as it has 3 hair-pin bends

Thanks Alan and Zilly!

I only went to the meeting on the Saturday this time, sorry to hear you couldn't make it alan. The Dave Bell shot was taken on the entry into the Esses - you can get really good pics here as long as you try not to get millions of flippin cones in the background!
