Default Indoor team and individual portraits

A friend asked if our business would be interested in doing this. We said yes now I am having doubts it is for indoor roller hockey youth leagues. We usually just shoot action photos and print on site how difficult will this be please get back to me with some info, tips, or ideas thanks

Being organized is your biggest challenge. Some random thoughts -- in no particular order:

- Do you have order forms made to hand out in advance?
- I recommend having someone to collect the forms and answer questions who doesn't have to shoot or help with posing.
- You will have to be sure to get your camera image numbers written on the form so you know who is who when you get back to the office.
- Have you found a good lab to print your packages for you?
- Will you package the prints, or does the lab you will use do this?
- If you have a large league, make sure to schedule enough time so you don't get a big backup of people waiting -- MAJOR PROBLEMS
- Is your workflow such that you can have the packages back to the parents in 3 or 4 weeks?
- Do you have the proper lighting equipment to take decent portraits and group shots?

Starting out with what cam/equipment you have right now would help us? Posting a few example images of your work would help, too.

That might not be wide enough for a team pic, + I'd rather have the depth of focus of a wider angle lens, too. Got one?

Look at the "Similar Threads" links at the bottom-left of this page.
Each link you visit should provide more links at the bottom.

This might give you some ideas, too:

it is really a big job and organization is key. Having someone record the names as the pictures are being taken is a must. From my experience, the parents are not looking for portrait quality. Most individaul poses are going to be all pretty much the same so the light will not vary much. The parents will be looking for different packages and a memory mate... magnets...mirrors..buttons..wallets....
The shooting is the easy part. putting all of these packages together !!! a pain and will take more time than shooting...and finally..how do you get paid? How does the parents place the order? Before the shoot, I had the parents fill out the order form with the help of the league. Of course I did not get them all on time.
Best of luck.........
