I have it down to this...I'm gonna buy the Dreb plus the 28-135 IS lens. Now, if I get three items, I get an additional $100 on the camera, and increased rebates on that item. So it works out that the 50mm 1.4f lens will actually cost me about $140. The 1.8 lens is at $70.00. Do you think the 1.4 is worth double
(I know that without rebates it is listed as being around $300) |

Wait, all that time and all I get is "Cream of the Damn Crop" ?!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'd do it just for the USM focus motor on the 1.4... a good buy at that price for sure.

Now I am rethinking it. I hope someone can help me with THIS. It seems silly not to take advantage of double and triple rebates. that is why I am interested in getting lenses. I have a Tamron 28-300 that I used on my Elan 7 and it seems terribly slow and soft. I know I am going to get a fast prime (double rebates) Should I stop there and use the Tamron in conjunction with the kit lens, or should I go ahead and get the 28-135 and sell the Tamron? Or any other options you guys can come up with reasonably?
