Default The Haves & the Have Nots

Another early attempt. Enjoying this.

40D & nifty fifty. Light was fading fast so high ISO may've caused a bit of noise. I didn't realise that the guy at the ATM had actually noticed me.

Nice image and a great indicator of our times and how we just ignore those less fortunate than ourselves. If anyone gets shirty with me taking images and I see them looking I pretend I am metering for light or dark, baffle them with bull unless they too are a snapper.

Nice shot.

Cheers,
Mark.

Maybe 'The Haves and Have-Nots" would be more accurate. Neither of the standing gents looks particularly rich.

I don't mean to turn your thread into social commentary but I have no empathy for someone who panhandles next to an ATM. I've personally had to get panhandlers to back off of women twice after I saw them harassing people at the ATM -- it is a scary spot as a woman (I'd guess) when you have your wallet out, cash in hand, and a man comes up behind you to ask for money.

If we shouldn't "ignore those less fortunate than ourselves" should we give each one money whenever we're asked or every time we see a hat on the ground? Give your money to a soup kitchen or another local food provider instead.

and btw, keep shooting, you have a good reaction here

Exactly my first impression about the unfortunate fellow and his choice of panhandling....
It seems as though the two young guys were having a conversation about the fellow.he appears to be looking at the guy infront of him for a reply.

Yeah, I'm no fan of panhandlers, but this guy has put himself in the right location - makes it tough for someone to say "I don't have any money on me".

I hate to sound horrible, but as a woman (even with my husband with me) I wouldn't go to that ATM because of him. I hate people crowding me to begin with, but I don't need someone begging me right there.
