Default Photoshop Elements Camera issue

Anyone else have this. My camera is about 4-5 months old. I go out and I shoot about 100-175 pictures at a time. I come home plug the camera in with the stock USB cable from the kit.

Photoshop sees the camera and connects to it. It scrolls through and says it finds X number of pictures. I select get pictures.

And It opens the orginizer and starts to get 2-3 pictures and then I get an error message that says to check the camera or the batteries to see if it is on. The camera is on and blinking busy.

This started about two weeks ago and it seems to be getting worse.

ie. I would shut the camera on and off and go through this a few times and finally get it. Last night I tried multiple times and only brought in the first 4 images of 162.

Just wondering if anyone else has seen this.

Buy a USB 2.0 card reader, take the card out of the camera and put it in that. It's faster, more reliable, and doesn't use camera batteries. I don't use download programs either, I use windows explorer to copy the files manually, though I used to use the free DIM from www.alanlight.com

Thanks Tim. That is where I was leaning... I was just hoping I didn't have a bigger problem. My cheapy card reader stopped working shortly after I bought my camera...LOL go figure.

I tried to use a USB card reader and couldn't get it to download anything at all.........just sits there! Never had any problems with the cable to camera connection though..........lightning fast and always works! Is there a specific type of card reader that I would need to get to make things work that way? Perhaps mine is not compatible with something in my computer....??

Nope, any card reader, decent brands usually work better than generic ones. Try using windows explorer to do the copy.
