Default Niswonger Invitational (track) pt.II

a few from yesterday...still got a ton to sort through...just went through the high jump cause the facial expressions are usually cool. I tried a few different exposure techniques...let me know what you think

Some nice shots there, although a few are a bit too loose for my liking.

Good workout for your 20D! Excellent work as usual. Superb crops.

Looks like you're working against the limit of the lighting conditions - no shadow detail in some shots.

Are you using an off-center AF focus point for the runners on the track - or cropping?

thank you for the comments...and to think that less than i year ago i didnt know what aperture was...haha

The joystick on the 20d is rockin for swapping between those AF points on the fly...if its a straight shot I stick to center point, for the turns I used the upper middle 3/4 point and tracked their chest...moving arms threw it off some

for the long jump I stuck to center, I couldn't backup anymore because distance medleys were going on and the inside of the track was about a foot behind me...the 85 wasnt an IDEAL choice because tracking the jump witht he center point to the landing met cutting out the ground. I really wanted to get some straight on shots and even though I was allowed to stand pretty close to the end of the pit I asked the runners and most of them prefered if I did not. So I respected that request on my own accord.
