Question Travellers tripod

Going to the Philippines in November
Have to get a new tripod that is lightweight but still stable.
Due to weightlimits of only 10kg pr person I need a new tripod.
And it can't be too long folded either, max 17" or so will do.

Any good suggestions?

I love my Feisol CT-3441S w/RRS BH-25. Compact & light for traveling and very stable when extended. Good build quality and price for a CF tripod.

Right now I got the Manfrotto 055MF3 which I like.
It is light but a little to long when folded.

So I was thinking something in that range: $320 w/o the head
Thinking of just using my 488RC2 to start with.

Tried B&H for this but they don't sell it! Where did you buy it from?

You can purchase the Feisol direct from the US importer: http://www.feisol.net/

I bought the 3441S a few months ago and love it. Small and light so I have no reason to not take it with me!!

Since you're in Norway, maybe this site will work better for you to purchase from?

$60 will get you a Slik Sprint Mini. You can also go with a Slik Sprint Pro. Both have removable heads so you can install any head you like. I have an Acratech GV2 installed on my mini. The legs are a little short for me, but it works and is incredibly compact.
