Default Drag Racing

First time out with a 20D and an 85mm f/1.8. Photos are straight from the camera, no cropping or PS just resized for the web. I am PS CS illiterate.

Any input is appreciated

I like them.

What exactly did you do to the in ACS . (Adobe CS) .

With adobe CS, I have learned that if there is anything you are unsure of, just go to yahoo or google and search on it. So if you wanted to learn more about sharpening, and using USM. you can search for it on yahoo or google.
I also like to play with the contrast, expecially with metal, I usm sharpen, and use Curves, and the histogram to adjust my images.

great images.

Good stuff, read up on PS. You need to boost the saturation, they look flat now.
If you can get on the other side of the track try it, so that the sun is behind you.

Yes, I should have moved over to the left lane. I will pay more attention next time out. I think the right lane is kind of like a security blanket for me. I will definately be reading up on PS.

I didn't really pay that much attention but I would say about 40-50 feet out from the actual starting line leaning on the retaining wall.

nice shots i particularily like the one that i played with for you, levels takes care of the washed out look and a little boost in saturation makes it look nicer too imo

COOL! Looks much better. Thank you for the make over. I have a couple of (really big) books I ordered and I will get to the search engines so I can hopefully fill the noggin' with some PS knowledge. I think I'll do some searching this weekend. I'll grab a couple of Killians and sit back and play for a while.

I have seen some incredible shots just go over the edge, in a good way, after some tweaking in PS.

Does anyone that has a 20D ever use the Parameters 1 setting? I used Parameters 2 setting for all of these. I thought maybe that the P1 setting would save some extra work in the long run. No?

nah its better to shot on p2 and photoshop rather than let the camera choose what it thinks best....saves you work but could also lose you some shots where you didnt quite want that saturation
