40D focus point stuck on top left point in, P,Tv,Av,M modes? Ideas?

Hey guys ive had my 40d for a few months now. Just took it on a riding shooting holiday and half way through the trip the focus point got stuck on the top left point. its only in P Tv AV and Man modes. Its still comes up when using man focus! not sure if there is a point lock of some sort i've acidentaly turned on but it made my shooting rather hard!

Ive tried other lenses and same thing.

Any ideas?

You have tried press the focus point button to change it? Sorry, yes it's obvious but you didn't mention it in your post.

Yes, me too wonders if the OP has realized that you can select a single point to use, if you like, and that it then will remain selected in all the modes he lists?

As embarassed as i am to say i didnt even know about the function or obviously how to set it!

The problem is most likely that he moved his focus point by mistake not knowing that he can do it(I hope that is it as it is a easy fix) but I am going to have a good giggle if that is the case as I had one of my friends do the same with his 20D a few years ago. He were complaining about most of his images being out of focus. I thought he had a lens problem as he was using a kit lens. Told him to bring the camera over and slapped one of my L lenses on. I saw that his focus point were on the one side and told him that I am going to move to center focus point to test the camera, from the blank look on his face I realized that the guy had no clue what I was talking about - a lesson later and the problem was solved

It's east not to read the manual for a dvd player, but it's needed for these cameras.
