For the past 2 months my shutter button is not working properly. I try to focus and it won't focus right away. I have to keep taking finger off and on until I achieve focus.
Anyone have this problem. I can't afford to send to Canon and be without one for 6 weeks. Any suggestions or I'm I SOL. I guess I need to look into a backup....possibly XTi. Thanks, Bridget |

Thanks Canon Bob....where have I been. Didn't realize this was a common problem. Camera problems are not good.....I have 50 sessions scheduled from now until the end of the year. May have to upgrade to the 50D in Oct. A friend of mine has a Rebel....maybe I can borrow.
I'll call Canon tomorrow. Already called place I purchased from and he basically said it's very common. I've only had the camera for a year and a half. Thanks for posting those threads. Bridget |

You should be able to get it serviced much quicker than 6 weeks. Overnight it to Canon, and I suspect 14 days you'll have it back.
Out of curiousity, why don't you have backup? Especially with 50 sessions between now and the end of the year, that is a very poor way to run your business. Even a cheap used Rebel or something should be in your bag.

I fixed the intermittent shutter button problem myself with no parts needed.
Details provided here with some helpful images and links to detailed disassembly instructions: http://www.flickr.com/photos/shippelt/3099140135/ Photo: ![]() Hope this helps! -Ryan |
