NAME CHANGE POLICY

** DON'T SEND ME A PM!**

READ THIS POST AND RESPOND IN THREAD

Changing user names is a burden to the entire forum. The changes made to the database can cause the entire forum to bog down, or even freeze preventing all our membership from enjoying the forum, while the database chokes and wheezes it's way back up to speed.

Recently, threads posted in this forum regarding name changes have drawn many new interested parties, and we have a huge influx of requests for name changes.

Addressing them has put a burden on the forum as a whole and the few Admin that can handle the changes.

The new policy is as follows.

Anyone requesting a user name change MUST;

1. Have Good reason. ( we won't change from "Motorhead" to "Pet Shop Boys" simply because your taste in music has changed. )
Valid reasons are mistakes, accidently using E-mail addresses or other privacy related concerns, etc. IE A GOOD reason.

2. Be Patient. Post your request here, and wait for one of the Admin to handle it.

3. REMEMBER POTN's Multiple account policy! Forum Rules Here LINK
ie: If you create a second account just to get a different name you will be banned!!!

4. Requests must include;

Original Name : CyberDyneSystems
Requested Name: H.A.L.
Reason: H.A.L was around a long time before Skynet...

Of course, this reason would be denied

ONE exception, if you are making a name change for privacy reasons like e-mail as user name, you can OMIT the "Original Name" field.

This policy is retroactive and supersedes any previous arrangements suggested for name changes.
If you sent a PM previously, you must start from scratch here!

Reason: Floppy was a nickname I had from an old car club. I don't want to use that name on here, I would rather go by my real name since nobody uses that other name anymore. Thanks!

It appears that we already have a member with username Jaime.

Note to all. Search the Members List for the username that you would like to have. It may already be in use.

Skip that member only posted twice and this the date of the last post: 20th of May 2003 (Tue), that was over 5 years ago, I do not believe he can be considered an active member, can an exception be made?
