This one was hard to get properly exposed. The snow on the right hand side is still blown out.
The title and picture is supposed to suggest that the strike in the major leagues is impacting all the way down to the very grass roots of the game. What would happen if the children gave up and went on strike? Where would the players of tomorrow come from ?? I was also unsure of which forum to post in. The title suggests sports and the picture suggests landscape ![]()

We used to have something like that in the US, I think, I don't miss it though. I makes for a better sports report at the evening news without all those scores that no one cared about.
As to your photo, lol, yes that is a hard shot to take and make. Look ok to me.

Umm...the hockey strike is for US and Canada and it's still on now RJSorensen. Also, what do you mean no one cared about the scores. There are always people who care about that particular thing that you don't. For example, you might care about the superbowl tonight (just as an example, not saying you do), but I sure don't, because that game doesn't interest me. I love to watch hockey with a passion, and it's very unfortunate that both sides still cannot resolve their conflict and just get on with what really matters, the game.
Great shot btw, if you could put a stick with a glove on stop and some hung up skates on the net, that would add to the metaphore very well. |

thanks for the comments.
Dimitry: Yup, agree with you, that would have been great, but had to do with what was there. Thanks Marie, it is kind of sad that what starts out as a child's dream can go so far from it in the end.

Growing up in Southern California, I never had the opportunity to see one of these. I did have the chance to play ice hockey once or twice in the local ice rink, but such an outdoor setting might have inspired my interest in the game more.

Great picture and a sad photo commentary. It seems to me that all those involved in pro sports are too greedy, players and owners.
I went to a cage fighting match once and a hockey game broke out.

Nice photo, East coast. Rosie (who's crying that she can't watch her hockey team, even though they haven't won a Stanley cup since 1983) Last edited by rosie777 : 8th of April 2005 (Fri) at 21:24. |

I like the shot. It reminds me that I would have to drive many hours on purpose to get anywhere near this kind of weather....
Thanks for the reminder. |
