Default Beads & Bokeh

While stomping around in the wet grass in pursuit of the Great Blue Heron that lives on the lake just behind our house just after daybreak this morning, I had to stop and get a few pictures of the light reflecting from the beads of dew reflecting the sky light. Using a shallow DOF, the sparkle of the dew created an interesting bokeh pattern.

It was somewhat difficult trying to compose an image with a 400 mm lens where a wide angle lens might have been a better choice. I am not really sure if the final result has a real point of interest other than the play of light.

I appreciate your critical thoughts.

Default Re: Beads & Bokeh

I generally prefer a landscape image to be shot in landscape mode. In this case, I think there is good reason to follow that dictum, because there is perhaps more foreground and background present than is necessary.

So, I think there is a landscape image in there and it is probably formed by just cropping out what is unnecessary in this image.
