Default ST-E2 and monoblocks - wireless

I have the ST-E2 and 4 x 600W/S monoblocks. They all fire when initiated by the Canon transmitter, but all pictures come out black.

I know that this is due to the highspeed outlet by the monoblocks - and they are either placed before or after the exposure - probably before.

But do any of you guys know how to go around this problem ? Any workaround - besides bying a radiotransmitter suitet for the Monoblocks ?

Any suggestions ?

The ST-E2 is sending out a pulse before the shutter fires and is triggering the monolights prematurely.

The very simple solution is to put a small automatic flash (anything that DOESN'T use E-TTL!!!!) onto your camera. I'd select one with a rotating head so I could turn it so its light isn't influencing the exposure. The visible light ffrom the flash will now trigger the optical slaves in your monolights, and this should synch the monolights to your shutter just fine.

Cover the 4 contact points on either the ST-E2 or the shoe mount on the camera. Just don't cover the middle one, as this is the trigger. this will give you manual mode. You will lose ETTL, so you will need a meter.
