Just curious on your thoughts. Tokina 11-16 or Canon 10-22?
On a whim I just bought the Canon, primarily because the Tokina was sold out everywhere. Now I'm kind of having second thoughts. I have owned the Canon before so I know what I'm getting. The Tokina is 2.8, nice, but I will be using a super wide angle for mostly landscapes where its stopped down anyway. I am hearing the Tokina has better build but the Canon is a Canon will hold its value. (I sold my 10-22 for more than I paid for it) What would you do? |

I use UWA indoor in museum, church, etc. The f2.8 on the Tokina is superior in this situation. Assuming you can find it in stock and get a good copy.

I traded my 10-22 for the Tokie. Very happy with the decision. Love the constant 2.8. Only thing I miss is the USM/FTM focus, but the IQ makes up for it.

+1 for tokina 11-16
you can always step back to get wider, but never recover a shot because of too little light. |

You can't always step back to get a wider shot, but if you shoot landscapes you can always stop down

Another vote for the Tokina 11-16, I sold my Sigma 10-20 which was a fair bit softer and of course did not have the constant f2.8

I'd vote for the Tokina as well. The shorter range and loss off USM is worth the better build quality, constant f/2.8, and sharpness imo.

I got the 10-22 b/c of an awesome deal at Samy's camera....
It's a wonderful lens. I've never used the Tokina, but I can see where the constant 2.8 could help. But overall the 10-22 is solid and has produced many great images for me.

You can't be looking very far.
Onestop Digital £346 delivered, with tax/duty rebate service. In the interests of balance, here's a link to the Canon 10-22 as well. That's under £400. |
