Canon Powershot S50 problem
I'm hoping someone can help me. I have a 5 year old Canon Powershot S50, and the sliding lens cover (which also powers the camera on and off) is not functioning correctly. It sounds/feels like it was on a "track" that it is no longer on, and you have to fight it open/closed. Also, it isn't engaging the mechanism that turns the camera on and off. Other than this problem, the camera works fine, the picture quality is still great, and I don't want to replace an otherwise functioning camera for what seems like a small mechanical problem.
Is this fixable?
or better still... is this fixable at home, or would I need to find someplace that repairs this sort of thing?
