I want to start a small side photo and design "business" I am a stay at home home. I have people begging me to take photos of their children, and they would pay me in return. I also have people demanding invitations and announcements I have designed. But where do i begin? I pretty much would like to get a website up and running this week. But is there anything legit I need to do? Being its a very small business And Id be photogtaphing on weekends, and desiging on weekdays, is a Tax ID number needed? Do i need to do taxes if its a home based "business" Or can i just put up a website and charge? I really dont know what to do, where to start and No one is being very helpful or nice about it either. Please Help!

You need to learn about running a business. If you plan on being successful at this you need to approach it as a business owner. I don't know where in Maryland you are, but I'd go here: www.mdsbdc.umd.edu and start reading. These people can help answer all of your questions. You need to plan this thing out though, or you won't make it.
Good luck!
