Default Dynamic Range?

Does anyone have numbers for dynamic range comparisons
between digital and film? I feel my digital 8x10 prints
are a lot sharper and have more punch that 4x8 film
snapshots. I have a Nikon N65 with a 1.4 prime lens
and I feel my G1 beats it in picture quality, if I
didn't I wouldn't be shooting digital.
