Default How many of you have complete support from your spouse?

not trying to get anyone in trouble, including me, but my wife is curious too how many of you that shoot from bikini to full nude and everything in between have complete support from your spouse? Do they assist in any facet of the shoot, from assistant to editor?

Mine doesn't recruit talent but she is fine with the work. Duh. Work is the operative word. If you plan to work, there's not much difference from the office to the studio.

My wife doesn't really participate but she will tell me when something sucks.

What is her concern?

Mine finally allowed me then hit the roof. 6 mths went buy allowed me again and then I decided to stop. Wife was VERY happy when I did

So in 1 yr 45 model shoots. Total made $440. I think the lack of money was why it came to an end and she was unhappy. A lot of work for very little return.

Mine was not nude. Lingerie at most.

My wife has actually found a few friends of hers to model for me. She supports me and helps when needed/asked. She has zero issues with me shooting others (or her) in any state of dress/un-dress

I'd rather not get into it here; suffice it to say this type of shooting and support of it might all boil down to security and self esteem. We post the stick skinny models most of the time, and anyone that doesn't fit the mold might be reluctant to have the slap-in-the-face models in the house. My latest posts with Brandie mean I'm just as guilty, but it seems the only way to get feedback is to have the "typical" model. Freddy has great skills, but mine don't match his. I don't get near the responses he does. So I feel I have to find models that get close to his examples in order for people to pay attention.

It's a catch-22 all the way around; Note I did say most post the skinnier models; I give Woodster all kinds of props for posting his wife (latest developments not withstanding).

My wife has been supportive of my model shoots for over 30 years. Can't ask for more than that from her.

My current GF knew that i was into studio photography when i met her and has been very supportive and i involve her in every way i can. She even traiend up as a pro make up artist so she can work alongside me with my photoshoots and she has a great rapport with the models i work with and i think this helps the models lots as i tend to work with new and up and coming models...

My wife has found some models for me as well I have shot most of her friends in Glamour, boudoir and nude shoots. Jealousy is very unhealthy and a terrible waste of time.

"She who must be obeyed" barely raises an eyebrow these days when I have a camera in my hand.

I did over hear her one day being asked wasn't she worried I'd run off with a model half my age, only to have my ego deflated by her reply of, "None of em could be that desperate"

My wife has no involvement with my shooting (this is my living). Makes no difference if it's a baby shoot, maternity shoot, senior shoot, or model shoot. As long as I keep doing something that pays the bills, she's happy.

Oops. I missed that it's a poll. None of the choices apply to me. She doesn't find any subjects for me. She's ambivalent toward it. It's no different to her than when I get hired to shoot a volleyball game (for example). It's just something I do at work.

She gave me hell when I started and still does a little. Her first words were "I see where this is going to lead". She started backing off when I explained that at most shoots it is ....

me
an assistant
the models (average around 2 per shoot)
the MUA
the body painter (sometimes)
the hair stylist
the wardrobe consultant (sometimes)
the models friend
the client (sometimes)

I'm still new at this since I just started shooting models March 2007 and then had to stop in June 2007 due to injury, but I'm starting up again now that I'm healing. I think professionalism helps a lot. I know it does with models, MUA, etc...

She still wonders why the shots are mainly sexy. And my honest answer is "pick up a fashion mag and look at the shots". My first client was a lingerie store so that didn't help with starting off shooting fashion. I don't do seniors or family portraits and never will except for friends.

Jeff, I hear ya. She'd prefer I pick up your slack, though and only shoot seniors and families.
