Default Natural light baby portrait

Just wanted to share with you my 8 mo. old grand daughter. Shot this in natural morning light coming through the window. ISO 100 on tripod.

I really like this shot, it is absolutely amazing. Your image editing says allow and I couldn't resist trying something.

cute shot, good focus. underexposed though, yellow color cast, no contrast.
here's my play.

this may be too harsh looking, this was very quick.

Here is my try at it...

I truned it into a dutone(i like the color of the black and white better that way..adjusted levels, doged the eyes and side of face a bit and burned in the outter rim of the iris.

Adjusted levels, auto contrast, reduced yellow a bit, bumped up saturation a tad and adjusted hue to magenta side by1 or 2. Dodged(15%) side of face, eyes and burned(12%) in rim of iris.

great bunch of interpretations here, that's why I like to post on this site. I get to see a pretty good variety of what everybody else sees in a photo. Thanks for all the pointers.

Excellent touch Andrea. It is amazing what the framing does to round off the shot.

thanks for the trys at this guys! Appreciate it. I am concerned though how the picture I posted doesn't look like the one on my hard drive. The original is brighter, this one is pretty flat. Its hosted through photobucket maybe something happened through the compression? Will investigate further. Any way thanks for looking.

after uploading the original version to photobucket the same thing happened! It was way too cool looking. So i had to use the editing software in photobucket to get it back to original specs. So any way here is what the original posted pic is supposed to look like. Hopefully you can see the difference.

I noticed the same thing lately when using photobucket. It seems to be making the pictures rather cool and flat in appearance.

I still think it looks a little underexposed but some of these PS enhancements people have done are great! What a beautiful baby, and such a great moment, I love the shot!!
