I had my camera bag stolen on 10/02/08 near Goldsboro, NC. I live in Greenville, NC. The bag had my life in it:

40d (Serial # 1520804929)
Canon EF 28-135mm F3.5-5.6 IS USM (Serial # 42618343)
Tamron AF 70-300mm F/4-5.6 Di LD Macro 1:2 (Serial # 030924)
Tamron SP AF 28-75mm F/2.8 XR di LD Macro
Canon Digital Rebel XT
Canon 17-55mm
Canon 430 EX Flash
Sony Multi Card Reader
2 Sandisk 2 GB Ultra Compact Flash Memory Cards
1 Sandisk 4 GB Extreme III Compact Flash
1 Sandisk 2 GB Extreme III Compact Flash
Cheap Ebay Remote Flash Trigger & Receiver
Canon Deluxe Photo Backpack 200EG
WhiBal G6 Card

I am posting this here in the event someone here in their day to day activities comes across this equipment. I'm not asking anyone to search for me, but if you come across a sale with the above items to let me know.

I can't go into details here on the forum, but I went through a nasty separation and I doubt the equipment will ever show up. Thanks for taking the time to read this and Happy Shooting!

Jeremy

have you checked any of the pawn shops.. when i lived in NC i got some of my things back that i found at the pawn shops.. i searched from wachington NC all the way down into wilmington NC, and i found my alpine unit, my laptop, and my coach purse at a place in sneeds ferry.. they cought the guy because he gave his Dl when he went to get money. and i was lucky enough to press charges, and get money from him for the damages he caused to my truck.

i would do a good search.. i know for sure NC doesnt take that stuff to kindly.

good luck, i hope you get your stuff back.

shan

Thanks for all the responses and support. I didn't have the thread marked to send me an email when someone replied so I had no idea there were responses to my thread until the other day. I'm really not frequenting the forum much any more. It bums me out to see other's work - get inspired - and then not be able to do anything without my gear.

There's more about the story listed here:

Once again, thanks for the support. I'll get back to shooting eventually. Hopefully sooner than later!!

FYI for anyone interested but I am one HAPPY CAMPER!!

I had a friend who worked for the same insurance company and when she heard of my camera loss she went to bat for me. After getting her copies of my separation papers and such I got a check cut in my name ONLY!!

Now, I have a camera again & I'm looking forward to getting back out there! I went to a local pro shop and got a good deal on a barely used 30D and 70-200 f2.8 USM. I also purchased a 24-105 f4 IS USM! Maybe a step back in camera (40D to 30D), but a huge step up in glass. I'll save some money & get another 40D and then I'll have the 30D as my back up!!

Thanks again for all the support & for anyone new to this game......INSURE your equipment. Mine is 100% insured now. No deductable & 100% replacement!!
