Hello,
I have a Powershot A570 that I bought last year and the warranty was up a couple months ago. My flash does not fire at all. I've tried resetting the camera but it does not help. The camera will not focus if flash is needed. Basically, if I have to take a picture, the flash needs to be off and that's the only way it will focus. An orange light appears when I'm focusing. However, if I'm in auto/flash-mode then the orange light remains, whereas if I'm in non-flash mode then it just turns off when the picture is focused and shot. Does anyone have any suggestions? I'm contemplating just buying a new camera altogether as I leave for a trip next week, but I wanted to see if anyone has any ideas before I go off and buy a new one. Thanks. |

I have a brand new one for sale if you're interested. I haven't had a problem with the flash not going off (unless I disabled the flash, of course). I'm guessing you have already tried changing the batteries.
You could always send it in to Canon to see if they can fix it, but I don't think they could get back to you in a week.
