Hi Everyone,
I went to Kyoto and Osaka on the weekend, and got some awesome pictures. Kyoto is the old capital of Japan, filled with temples and shrines, and cute little Maiko running around in Kimono. Osaka is the noisey neighbour to the west. Take a look: http://www.photokyo.com/gallery2.asp...=kyotoandosaka |

Super shots .. hard to pick a favourite .. the reds are astounding ... the Maiko's fooled me ... the little guy was a great shot too. Quite a place.

Yeah, those Maiko fool most people. There is a place near Kiyomizu-dera that will dress you up like a maiko for as little as 12,000 yen ($100). Because of that, they are around quite a bit.
I did happen to find ONE real one, and there was a WORLD of difference between her and the fake ones. Unfortunately I couldnt whip out the camera fast enough as she parted the sea of people while scurrying down a busy street. |
