Default My first E-session: Mike & Kelsey

I shot some engagement shots for my friends a while ago. It was kinda impromptu. I was only supposed to take a couple of shots for them; however, it turned out to be an almost official engagement session.
I've never shot engagement photos before, but, now, I am considering doing this at least part-time (I am a college student).

I wish I my PP skills were better.
What do you all think? What worked? What didn't? Suggestions? Tips?

i like these a lot, this is an awesome set! #6 would be my fave, i love how she has her hands on his neck!
I'm no pro but i feel like the photos should be brightened up a bit...

I really like the style and composition of all of these. I posted in another thread that I wasn't feeling the connection of the couple that the poster shot... This is a great example of capturing the connection of the couple and feeling their energy. Good job.

I think you did great! I like the tone of the images, very classy. One thing I would watch out for would be cropping through joints of people. Like #2 her left shoulder and #7 his right shoulder. Otherwise I think it was a great eshoot

I think you did a very good job successfully transending images that are only interesting to the subject, but also to any emotionally connected viewer (like brides who can see themselves in the images). These are the kind of images you may want to display in a portfolio. That being said, I think you could do with a little rule of thirds instruction either in the shooting of the image, or in croping, some of your subjects in my opinion sit too low. Again very good job.

well done, excellent shots, especially for a shoot you didn't even plan!! you've got a really great eye. i like what i'm seeing here i like your PP too!

#4 & #8 is a bit dark - looks like you're losing a bit of shadow detail in the blacks

Ah, right. Usually when I edit photos on my laptop and later check them out on my desktop, they always appear rather dark. This disturbs me. What is wrong? Is my display too bright?

Right. I sometimes get too excited to keep things like these in consideration. I shoot and shoot and shoot! I believe that none of them (except for #7) are cropped. I will try to remember!

What are you referring to? The PP in all the photos or do you mean #2?

I know exactly what you mean as I am the same way when I shoot. I guess it is a good thing to be that excited about shooting!
