It's a beast honestly. I'd like to still get a 1V but the 1N is more than sufficient for my 35mm film needs. I've only been shooting B&W film lately, but I wouldn't hesitate to shoot some color print or slide film through here. The 1N is a BARGAIN for a Pro-Level 35mm camera these days. |

WOW! An iPhone pic posted here that doesn't suck!
![]() Usually when people says ''sorry for the ugly iPhone picture'', they mean it. But this time, this one is nice.

The Elan 7 was my first Canon camera. It's small, relatively quiet, light weight and works well. The EOS 3 was my workhorse when I was in school. I had two of them, one with the PB-E2 booster and one with a regular grip. That camera is excellent. It's at least 95% of the 1V. The 1N is my latest. I've only had it about 6 months, but I've run about 20+ rolls of film through it already. All of the samples I posted were with Ilford XP2 400 which is a C-41 B&W film. I really like it but it's gotten quite expensive lately so I've gone back to traditional B&W. The 1N is the most robust of the three (though the 1V is even more so). I really liked the option to pick various grips for it depending on one's needs. I have the PB-E1 booster, but I honestly don't use it often as I don't do high FPS on film anymore (I used to regularly when I had my EOS 3s so the PB-E2 made sense back then. I prefer the BP-E1 battery grip. It adds a little more area to grip and the weight is comfortable in my hands. It's a little hard to find these days though. The AF is plenty fast and responsive and the meter is excellent. Sure you only get 5 AF points but honestly it's quite accurate, I can't complain. If I manage to get a killer deal on a 1V I'd jump on it, but I'm in no hurry to "upgrade" my 1N. I whole-heartedly recommend that you save up and go for the 1, 1N or 1V. They are simply the best EOS film bodies. If you really want high speed you could also look for a 1N-RS (if you can't afford a 1V-HS). |
