Looks fine. Only question is the screen, laptops usually aren't great.

Roman_t,

You do realize that's a 'refurbished' ASUS for $1089? Just making sure you've seen the fine print. ASUS is generally a solid brand that makes good laptops. I tend to stay away from PC refurbs...because most of them have significantly reduced warranties (i.e. like 90 days). Apple is the one exception, where their refurbs carry an identical warranty to the brand new ones!

One question you might want to ask -- if ability to go 'remote' is important for you, a 17-inch screen doesn't lend itself always to easy portability. 17-inch screens are typically for people that need a large AND mobile desktop area.....usually a single computer.

But since you already have a desktop and a 24-inch monitor....I personally might wonder the need for spending money on a 17-inch laptop, unless you really need the extra work space.

I run a 22-inch with my desktop at home....and a 13.3 inch Macbook for work. I find the size of the later is perfect for taking to and fro. I personally wouldn't want anything bigger....but then I don't really need the extra desktop space. So it really depends how big you need.

yes one refurb and another has damaged packaging. i dont know all details. in-store check would be great for sure.
refurb macbook with the same specs would cost alot more. cant dream about it.
i dont mind 17 inch display for laptop. its 16x9 wide type. this model costs about twice more in my town.
thanx for your word beritolam

I have a Asus laptop z70va which is going on four years old. They are excellent laptops.
