Can footage from an XL2 and XHA1 be acquired so that they can be edited together without obvious differences in the video quality? I realize that this would mean using lower quality video than the XHA1 is capable of. If this can be done, please let me know how I should set each device.
Thank you in advance. David |

Sure you can. But...
XL2 is standard definition camcorder and XHA1 can do SD and HDV. If your final output is for SD, I recommend you set your XHA1 to SD, which the editing will be much fast except you have a very powerfull computer. Down scale the HDV to SD, quality have not that much different. If your final output is for HD, you have no choice the footage from your XL2 will not that good in HD, or just say it bad in HD output.

Yes, we use our XH-A1 in SD mode for most jobs.
We had an XL2 and an A1 paired for about year and just recently sold the XL2 and bought another A1.
