Default How's My Lighting? C&C Please!

Hey guys,

I know he's not dressed for this picture, but I was just testing the lighting. All I had was an on camera flash that I bounced off the wall on my left.

Also, can you please let me know if you see some noise in this image?

Thank you!

Looks good. Are the tree lights off?

If you look closely you can see that they are on, but my flash might have overpowered them.

Thanks for the comment!

I'd say tone down the flash to show more tree lights and you'll have a perfect shot.

that empty lower left are is bothering me. how about stacking some gifts in that lower left area to make it look full under the tree. if that's not possible, how about just having him stand up. and I do agree w/ toning down the flash and maybe a slightly slower shutter to increase the visibility of those tree lights. my 2 cents. hope that helps.

I agree with having the bottom left filled with gifts. I didn't notice that at the time that I took this picture . I had his Christmas outfit at another house at the time that I took this so I was just testing to see how the lighting would be. I also slightly adjusted the exposure in Adobe Camera Raw so that might be why the flash seems more powerful than it might have been. Oh by the way, did this appear noisy to anyone other than me? I'm not sure if it's just my monitor.

Thanks for the comments everyone! Now I just need to get him in his Christmas outfit
