Excellant! Thanks for sharing these. I shot a local production of The Nutcracker on Ice this year for the first time as a guest of the event's staff photographer. I learned a lot of what to do, not to do, and what I need to work on between now and next year to do even better.

I'd guess this is one of the most difficult Performing Art to shoot...

Some nice images, but I think with some technical problems.
Always easier to critique images then to take them, so here are some comments:

#1 looks a bit motion blurred.
#2 as well. And while your timing is very nice here, the position of the dancer in the background isn't
#3 is a very nice image, but the focus looks off.
#4 as well. (both front focus I'd say)
#5: Nice smile. I'd crop off the second dancer in the left though (crop through the boa)
#6: Again good timing, a little soft.
#7: Nice, but cropped the hand.
#8: okay.

Might be that some of the softness I see is a case of not proper sharpening after resize however.

Thanks Rene! Always nice to get pointers here and there. I checked and sure enough my output sharpening was off on these, so that is why they are soft for the most part. Here are a couple of them with sharpening added after resize...

That looks a whole lot better

Blue one still not pin sharp though, but acceptable IMO.
