I have a noob question regarding professional sports venues. I landed some free tickets to the upcoming Lakers/Magic game at Staples and I was thinking about lugging my 40D. I don't attend sporting events often at all, in fact, I rarely go. However, I'm under the impression that the NBA and Staples probably won't allow fans to attend games with DSLRs? (<-- that's my question)

I was rummaging through the Lakers website and saw no mention about photography and restrictions. But I figure with the extensive experience here on POTN, someone here must know the answer to my question.

Thanks in advance. :)

Generally speaking, many pro sports venues have restrictions on either lens length (usually 3" or so .. extended) or "Professional SLR" cameras in general.

The second rule gives them very wide lattitude to say "Nope, sorry..."

Did you check the Staples Center website itself?
