HDR? Nice composition. However, the boulders look OOF. What were your settings?

Yeah it's a blend of 3 exposures of 1 raw file. I do wish i had more depth of field. The settings were 80mm, 1/800s, f5.6, 100iso. Thanks for the comments.

You should've dropped your shutter speed considerably and decreased your aperture to at least f/11 or f/16.
ALso, the horizon is tilted down the right. The mid tonne greys are too dark, and thus your white point needs to be raised a bit. Hope this helps. |

Very cool image. Looks like the tanker is aiming straight for the lighthouse.
It could have been a notch brighter |

Interesting perspective on something most folks don't see every day.
Your processing left everything a tad "dense." I don't get the feeling that this was a nice summer day on the Great Lakes. Oh, and it looks as if Lake Michigan is going to drain into Lake Superior (horizon...)

Thanks for all the comments. I wish I could have a do over on this day. It was actually a pretty nice day, but this was taken early, just after the fog had rolled off the water. That horizon is really annoying. I have it straightened in a couple other versions of this shot, I didn't even think of it here. Oh well.

I enjoyed this one.
I agree on the horizon straightening and possibly bringing up the brightness a bit. It almost appears that the vignette is over taking the photo. I could be wrong. But other than that it's fantastic shot. |
