Default Fisheye

So, what is everyone's opinions on fisheyes? Should every concert photographer have one in their bag to get a few shots at every gig, or will a good wide angle/UWA be enough to get by with.

I know the use of a fisheye is pretty cliche for concerts, but I'm wondering if its not almost expected to have a couple fisheye shots in a set?

I would like to have one in my bag one day - I think if used in the right circumstances they can give excellent results.

i use mine a fair bit on the full-frame...you need to be careful not to overuse it, and you need to be *really* close; in fact some performers might get a bit wigged out how close you can get to them.

for this shot of Mark Arm (Mudhoney), i was literally inches from his face.

I rented one once, and loved it.

even on a crop sensor, excellent results.
